Design Concept: Modern Minimalist
Smooth curves and warm elements turn this house into a veritable cocoon of comfort.
Reflecting the garden-centric concept of the whole development, a home in Sierra Hijauan was crafted to be as comforting as possible according to the client's wishes. One of the primary objectives in line with this overall goal was the maximum utilisation of the residence's space.
To achieve this, steps to optimise the flow of space from one area to the next such as the decision to do without doors in the home's social spaces were taken. Smooth lines and the softening of edges enhanced this effect with the most striking example being the application of curves and arches to traditionally angular aspects such as wall corners and doorways.
Additionally, only warm-toned materials such as light-coloured wood, raw marble and matte surfaces were used throughout the house so as to create a complementary Zen-like atmosphere. The careful selection of key furniture pieces and furnishings such as the stacked disc coffee table in the living area and the circular pendant lights above the dining table also reflect the chosen interior design concept.
However, it is the round skylight at the entrance that best encapsulates both the artistic and functional sides of the home's aesthetic. The centrepiece of the residence's social spaces, it allows ample amounts of natural light to illuminate the interior of the abode which in turn amplifies its already impressive sense of spaciousness.
