Contemporary Comfort

Nestled in the affluent township of Kota Damansara, The Estana already had everything it needed to guarantee its residents a life full of grand tranquillity. When one homeowner living here wished for his 4,200 sq ft abode to have a subtly lavish atmosphere, a contemporary concept with materials that embodied the requested ambience was developed.

Upon entering, veined grey marble floor tiles lead the way inside where the dry kitchen is the first area of the home to be encountered. To continue the visual theme, grey marble albeit with a slightly different veining pattern were used for the kitchen island top and countertop and grey upholstered bar stools were paired with the kitchen island. Providing some complementary difference are the dark wood panels that make up the kitchen glass cabinets. Around the corner and behind a reflective glass door, the wet kitchen builds on this combination with its grey marble countertop and splashback, dark wood upper cabinet panels and white base cabinet panels.

Past the dry kitchen is the dining area where the same materials have been applied in a different configuration, guaranteeing it its own identity without straying from the established theme. The dining table boasts a dark wood top along with an attached open storage bar constructed with grey marble and grey upholstered chairs complete the set. Meanwhile, the living area next to it introduces new but still complementary colours and materials to the mix with elements such as a white L-shaped sofa, sections of fluted light wood wall panels and white marble slabs adorning the wall behind the television.

A variation of this combination was used for the master bedroom as a similar atmosphere that promoted relaxation was desired. In this case, the white marble slabs decorate the wall behind the bed while wood flooring provides the room with the necessary warmth and a long stretch of black marble doubles as the study table and a wall-mounted shelf. In contrast, the guest room has black marble floor tiles, upholstered wall panels behind the and a dressing table made of dark wood panels. Last but not least, the entertainment room cultivates its own inviting personality with a generous application of dark wood panels on parts of the walls, kitchen island and even ceiling.
