When the tennis superstar was having her home built, an aspect that was pertinent to its design was having an outdoor-indoors feel to it. Meaning, lots of wide see-through panels and windows with heaps of light shining through.
Below, Sharapova’s bathroom exudes a minimalistic style with large window panels to let in as much light as possible to brighten up the room.
What better way to start your day than with the warmth and glow of the Sun on your skin. This Malaysian home’s bathroom interior incorporated a light coloured marble feature wall to brighten up the space even further.
Bring the outdoors indoors while dining by opening up the dining room to your backyard or patio. This open floor plan is a great al fresco way to entertain when guests are over, making things less formal and more relaxed.
This local interior designer also opted for a similar layout, and kept the dining table’s decorations and centrepiece simple yet elegant with an eclectic light fixture.
When Sharapova designed her outdoor space, her goal was to create a space that was laid back and the daybeds complement it perfectly.
You can replicate this look just like this home in Kuala Lumpur did by including large sliding glass panels into their interior design which helps extend the space and illuminate the room. The beauty about these panels is that with our Malaysian weather, you can still enjoy sunlight shining through with the air conditioner on without retracting the panels.
When designing your home office, comfort and practicality is key. Allow as much natural light in to make your space feel less closed up. Maintaining a minimalistic style also helps with reducing unwanted clutter.
This Malaysian home office opted for a minimalistic Scandinavian interior design and added a touch of greenery by using plants to retain the outdoors-indoors feel.
Prepping and cooking in confined kitchens often leaves you cut off and secluded from your guests which also makes it harder to entertain them. Hence Sharapova’s decision to combine both spaces.
This Malaysian home gave their casual dining area a minimalistic and modern style. It’s neat and tidy, yet functional with the addition of hanging shelves and dug out storage spaces.
Sliding glass doors are a great way to welcome natural light into your space. Additionally, you can add light coloured decor to brighten up your home.
This bungalow in Cheras designed their living room in such a way that it connects the garden and pool area. You can go from chilling on the couch to taking a quick dip in the pool.
