Interior Design Project Info

Lemonsky Studio, one of the premier CGI art studios, was envisioned to create an inspiring, functional workspace that stimulates creativity and promotes well-being. The design draws on the industrial charm of New York loft spaces, creating a raw yet refined studio environment that makes a powerful first impression. By stripping the space back to its core, we exposed the existing concrete beams and slabs, celebrating the raw beauty of the formwork and concrete surfaces. This foundational decision lays the groundwork for an industrial, minimalist aesthetic that also elevates the working experience.

Our design fosters creativity through a well-curated blend of materials—stainless steel, glass blocks, and exposed concrete—balanced with warmer wooden tones in the event space. This thoughtful approach ensures that the studio is not only visually striking but also contributes to the artists' well-being by offering an uncluttered, calm environment in which they can focus and thrive. By seamlessly combining aesthetic impact with simple and practical design, Lemonsky Studio makes a positive, lasting impact on its occupants, inspiring creativity and supporting the mental wellness of the artists who work there.

The visual appeal of Lemonsky Studio is achieved through a carefully orchestrated blend of cool tones and industrial materials. Lighter shades dominate the space, paired with monochromatic color schemes across walls, ceilings, and furniture, creating a clean, minimalist look. The use of stainless steel, particularly in the custom-designed reception desk and pantry backsplash, reinforces the industrial aesthetic. Yet the integration of natural wood in the event space offers a soft counterpoint, creating a harmonious balance that enhances the overall aesthetic.

The studio’s understated design acts as a neutral base, allowing the vibrant models and works of art displayed by the artists to pop. LED strip lighting in the hallway directs visitors through the space, creating a subtle yet impactful sense of flow. Every design element has been carefully selected to enhance the visual appeal, while creating a seamless experience for its occupants.

The studio space is designed with functionality at its core, ensuring that it meets the daily needs of its artists while supporting ease of use. The workspace layout resembles a scientific laboratory, encouraging precision and focus. The open-plan design, combined with glass partitions, allows for fluid communication and collaboration between teams, while still maintaining individual spaces for focused work. This flexibility ensures the space caters to diverse working styles, enhancing the overall productivity of the studio. The reception’s round design promotes better flow, creating an inviting and approachable atmosphere for both staff and visitors. This consideration for the human experience cultivates a warm and welcoming environment, inviting creativity to flourish from the moment one steps into the studio.

The concept of blending industrial aesthetics with functional workspaces results in a unique studio that feels both professional and artistic. Exposing the raw concrete beams and slabs is a bold move that reveals the inherent beauty of the building’s structure, turning what could be considered imperfections into celebrated design elements.
The custom corten steel sliding door symbolizes the studio’s philosophy of "Make Good Art" and "Sky's the Limit." By choosing corten steel, known for its weathered, rusted appearance, the studio introduces an element of raw beauty that resonates with the artistic spirit. Laser-cut reception desk, with its round design, exemplifies the innovative approach we took in avoiding rigid office layouts. This detail creates a space that stands out for its originality and creativity, ensuring it will remain timeless while meeting the evolving needs of the studio.

Sustainability was a key focus in the design of this studio space, with deliberate efforts to reduce the carbon footprint by minimizing the use of artificial materials. By exposing the existing raw concrete beams and slabs, we reduced the need for additional surface finishes or synthetic materials, significantly cutting down on material consumption. This approach not only celebrates the building's natural structure but also reduces the carbon emissions associated with producing and transporting new materials.

The decision to incorporate durable materials like stainless steel and galvanized steel supports the project’s longevity while reducing the need for replacements over time. These materials are not only highly durable but also recyclable, contributing to the overall sustainability of the design. By embracing the natural, raw elements of the building and limiting the use of unnecessary artificial materials, the project achieves a lower environmental impact, aligning with sustainable design principles.
