Interior Design & Architectural Project Info
Upon entering the beautiful home, we created the living and dining areas next to each other with an ample space for family to gather; together with the al fresco, each space blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor living and taking advantage of the natural light. The living room is exceptionally spacious features a beige woven sofa contrasts with the black marble TV backdrop.
As the house tour leads us past the living room, it reveals a modest dining area where a 10-seater dining table, placed right next to the al fresco filled with natural light. Through the modest and simple palette, employing a number of design techniques, where we treat interior designing like “layers of clothing”, in that there are multiple ways to navigate around the home - with the focal point of indoor and outdoor living, the home is complemented with a wide glass-walled that invites the light in and creates a warming character. Beyond this is the kitchen, a central space within the home that offers a calming, moody atmosphere with dark tones and marble countertops.
A key aspect of this home is the spiral staircase which we created a skylight above to draw more sunlight to the space which makes the space stands out even more, leading to the second level dressed in a dangled chandelier and a curved handrail along the curved wall. This selection allows a fluid transition between the floors, walls, ceiling, and joinery — seamlessly connecting from first floor leading up to the second floor.
The master bedroom is located on the second floor, complements a relaxing aesthetic with a palette of dark tones featuring a wood frame and a mirror, the master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in wardrobe.
Overall, our Project — Perennial Charm is a project which we successfully transformed from a 30 year-old house to an utilitarian space which fulfilled the requirements given by the homeowners. In addition to that it was defined by a palette of effortless linearity and a celebration of form and functionality. This style embraces the ideals of living in a timeless and efficient environment with a design palette that remains fresh for years to come.
