Project Overview
Interior Design & Architectural Project Info
Toh Residence is a large-scale renovation of an existing end lot terrace house built in the mid-‘80’s. It involved a total remodeling of the layouts for better comfort and efficiency in the use of space. The house sits at a higher land with unobstructed windpath. Cross ventilation is made possible by planning a neutral zone with a double volume space to allow heat to naturally disperse out from the house. The double volume space also marks the ‘heart’ of the house because it is where all the main circulation and spaces are connected through this area.
Sliding screens were introduced to maximize connection and flexibility of spaces. The dining, dry kitchen, outdoor living and garden are connected with collapsible doors that allows the indoor and outdoor spillover space to happen.
The 1st floor is greeted with abundance of natural lighting because of the skylight and double volume space at the ‘heart’ of the house itself; making the house looks more spacious and also giving a proper segregation between the master and the children’s room.
