Interior Design Project Info
Nestled within the confines of Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Naughty Babe Dirty Duck’s latest incarnation is a measured take on modern contemporary design. As one approaches the space, you are immediately greeted by an elegant façade seemingly made from a single piece of corrugated board, wrapping around the exterior of the restaurant. Following the clean, minimalist lines of the façade, your eyes are naturally drawn to the illuminated arch, an entrance which heralds interesting things to come.
The arch theme continues as one enters the space, stretching out over the ceiling, cutting the interior into multiple zones. Varying paint types are used to create interesting, contrasting textures between the smooth, glossy arches and rough corrugated board surfaces while still maintaining a sense of minimalism.
In a similar fashion, multiple textures have also been used on the flooring to segment the zones – with the corridor walkway highlighted by 100x100mm plaza granite tiles with a ring of black pebble wash finishes. The use of terrazzo with black chippings also serves to provide a sense of outdoor dining, adding to the theatre of the space.
Going further in, your attention is quickly drawn to the bar, the marquee piece of the interior space, demarcated by a ring of plaza granite tiles. The bar front is decorated with a unique, 3 dimensional arrangement of green tiles, making it stand out among the grey aesthetic of the broader bar.
