Interior Design Project Info

In many ways, designing a kiosk can be seen as quite the challenge – crafting a sound yet aesthetically pleasing design within the limits of a relatively small space can stretch the creative limits of any architect.

Located high up a popular mall in town stands a 400 sqft Bean Jr kiosk – made up of a combination of simple lines and minimalist design. Capturing the eyes immediately is the kiosk’s signature feature - a series of soft, soy white braids across the top of the entire structure.

This is the result of an ongoing partnership between LOKO Design and local design house B’Nottee – a collaborative effort to bring to life new, inspired works that push the boundaries of interior design.

For Bean Jr, the intention was to create a customized canvas art piece that would bring to mind the soybean puddings the dessert brand is known for.

A soft, dominant timber color stemming from the various furniture across the kiosk evokes a sense of calm and relaxation, only broken up by a horizontal slat of taro yam purple, and bits of terrazzo stones scattered across the structure to keep things interesting.

Finally, the slanted roof of the structure suggests an outline of a house – a proverbial home – where guests can feel like they’ve stumbled upon a humble abode, and where they are served a comforting portion of soybean pudding.
