Design Vision & Concept & Functionality

Simple, modern, and stunning. Three words that perfectly describe the cosy interiors of this home for two. The elegant and minimalist concept offer its owners a peaceful respite from the bustle of lively island life. Using colours that complement each other, practical spatial layouts and by infusing the space with right amount of both natural and artificial light, living small has never felt this grand.

Entrance: Semi-revealing the living area, the wooden panel lends the entrance a warm touch, its vertical lines elongating the walkway’s height. A convenient shelf gives homeowners space for their keys or may hold a small centrepiece, like a diffuser or scented candles, to give the entrance a more inviting vibe.

Living Room: The interior design of this cosy living space places emphasis on a few key features. The features are plenty of natural light, wall storage aplenty and furnishings that belong to one colour palette family. Floor-to-ceiling windows are donned in grey drapes and sheer curtains. The drapes match the pale grey wall behind the TV; where to the side, deep cabinets in a matte white finish accord ample storage for the homeowners. This ensures the room is kept uncluttered, and the owners’ various lifestyle necessities are within reach.

To ensure the living room looks harmonious at a glance, these well-matched furnishings grace the space: white TV cabinets, a dark coffee table and a contemporary curved sofa. Other pieces that come together to add to the room’s modern and lounge look are an arc floor lamp and a unique side table in a pale wood finish.

Dining & Kitchenette: The sleek and modish dining and kitchenette area is in the next room. Keeping storage areas tucked against the wall, drawers, cabinets, and appliances neatly line one side of the room. The cabinets, in off-white and black, are flanked by matching appliances in a dark shade. The consistent colours give the space uniformity, ensuring continuity flows from one room to another. A table for six is placed in the centre. The dining area is a cosy space with warm lighting, nicely positioned to allow homeowners and guests a view of the living room.

Wet Kitchen: More storage in the form of tall cabinets is stowed in this section, where a wet kitchen with a hood and hob are placed. The windows keep this area well-lit and ventilated, keeping users comfortable in this utility area. A washing machine and other laundry essentials are placed here, and as always, the monochrome colours here align with the rest of the rooms.

Master Bedroom: A place for peaceful respite, much care has been taken to ensure the master bedroom exudes a calming vibe. Wooden blinds invite much natural light in, and a long settee is placed next to the windows, making full use of the space. Plush bedding, and matching side lamps with low cabinets lend the room a luxurious hotel vibe. To maximise the space’s capability and fulfil the homeowner’s request, a simple wooden desk for work/study is placed in one corner, and a wall-mounted TV completes the snug yet comfortable room.

Environmental Sustainability:
Seamless storage, energy-saving bulbs and floor-to-ceiling windows for extra natural light ensure the rooms in Maxine are as eco-friendly as they come.
