Embracing pops of summer color accents like pumpkin orange and mustard yellow this link is nestled in the lush green suburbs of gamuda gardens.The client briefs had called for a unique concept, looking away from the normal earth tone colors but instead exciting, happy colors and young playful yet sophisticated elements which nods towards the younger Generation-Y buyers, especially young families . Our design concept targets to design with a focus on not just aesthetics but function, readapting spaces for new lifestyles and to cater to a growing family living in the urban, post pandemic of today. The existing architecture of the house comes with common areas like living dining kitchen and a bedroom on the ground floor. we proposed to design the ground floor room with a Wellness and Craft room for the family and the younger ones. A feature wall which comes with movable sliding doors convert this to either a closed storage shelf or opens up to a mirror for yoga or other Wellness activities An activity wall for memos, Children craft display and different types of table and storage compartments are integrated in the design , creating useful concealed storage and study table space at the same time. Cabinet doors customized from perforated metal are also convertible as magnetic memo board and 2 store yoga mats. A chic industrial Gray, black terrazo and apricot tones Are used to create a calm yet fun room. Sliding glass doors open to an internal courtyard in timber deck and colorful wall potted plants for one to reenergize chill with friends after yoga .
A feature entryway in rustic white stones Inspired by summer cottages, greets one at the entrance. An integrated bench with hidden storage for Knick knacks and shoes are designed at the entryway for maximized function. We explored different white tones, contrasting materials like orange velvet, linen laminates, and stone cladding to create a rich techtonic palette.
The living room, dining and open kitchen is designed to overlook the site patio and vast Green’s outside. As there is a lot of natural sunlight we proposed a white color palette continuing at the living with accents of pumpkin orange at the feature wore detailing, customize furniture shelves and lounge chair. Bronze metal accents are incorporated in two the feature wall and cabinetry detailing. The dining area features and eight packs customized dining table in a white stone cladding paired with cream colored chairs.
Space planning is an important step in our design. We wanted to create private cosy moments for family bonding activities as well as open, entertaining spaces for each family member to use efficiently. The open-concept kitchen in rustic white and pumpkin orange detailing is designed With a lots of counterspace for meal preparation including a concealed work counter to hide away the laundry and other utility storage. Concealed doors, concealed storages and glass display shelves are cleverly integrated in all areas to keep the design clean lined. Ambiance lights and task Lights are well integrated to feature the kitchen as the heart of the house. We wanted show unit with a homely, family ambiance and not a cold one devoid off character, hence styling for the whole house is carefully curated With customized artwork, décor and soft furnishings like rocks curtains and throw cushions.
The first floor consists of more private spaces like the family and 3 bedrooms, with ensuite bathrooms. Each bedroom is designed with a different theme with one bedroom designed for a teenager girl and another for a young son.
A lilac feature wall bed head is customized in a soft curve shape in lilac fabric and linen white tones. It is certainly any girls dream wardrobe as attention is paid to little details like the vanity shelves, velvet lined drawers for jewelries and spaces for girly doodles and creative ideas for a young lady.
The master bedroom is designed with extra wardrobe cum study space away from the bed area. We created double wardrobe space for his and hers to maximize storage. Behind a tinted glass wall we carved out long table nook, which acts as an additional vanity counter or private workspace with ample of shelves for handbags, books or any knickknacks. A more relaxed tone off white, cream and gold accents with Different lighting layers are used to create a relaxing ambience. On the other side a walk-in wardrobe with a customized bronze glass & orange velvet jewelry display cabinet is designed with vanity spaces to take care of fashion accesories. The sons room is designed with a feature wall bed head with an integrated study table, bookshelf and hidden storage. Creating space to hang out with friends, a bench for playing guitar and enjoying me-time the room caters to new lifestyle needs and aesthetics of a young teen. The family room is styled as a boardgame room with a mini fridge and concealed storage to cater to famaily needs especially winding down for the day or weekends.
