Interior Design Project Info

When we step into a house, we are not just entering a physical space; we are immersing ourselves in a story, a journey, and a feeling of homecoming.

Amika showunit (with its actual location in Metropark Tropicana) is not just a house; it's a canvas of emotions, memories, and family life. It's about acknowledging the importance of growth within a home and, above all, the sensation of coming home. Here, familiar sights, comforting smells, and cherished memories welcome you with open arms.

This isn't your typical show unit; it's a sneak peek into the life of a growing family, accommodating everyone from young kids to adults, promoting urban living, relaxation, entertainment, and wellness.

Inspiration in Beauty:
The Japanese word "Amika," meaning beauty, served as the inspirational core. The objective was to encapsulate beauty in its most subtle form, finding aesthetics in the smallest details.

The color palette is a blend of neutral shades, rustic textured whites, timber, and pastels inspired by Japan's Sakura blossoms. Stepping into the foyer is akin to immersing oneself in Japanese living, complete with a tea room nook enclosed by Tsuji paper panel sliding doors.

The 'Pause' Room:
The heart of this home is undoubtedly the 'pause' room, where time slows down, and relaxation takes center stage. This modern twist on traditional tea house elements creates an oasis for guests. A tea display cabinet, custom-crafted in dark ash timber, and a tea table setting with rattan seats form a meditation and tea room for cherished moments.

A Space for Connection:
Moving from the 'pause' room, you enter a spacious open kitchen, island, living, and dining area, designed to visually connect as one large space. An 8-foot island doubles as a breakfast counter, enhancing the Japanese theme with black rattan and Sakura pink scallop tiles.

Ceiling details feature gentle curves, textures are meticulously selected, and layerings of lightings contribute to the creation of a warm and inviting ambiance. The entire space is uncluttered, allowing accents from the wall and furnishings to shine.

Bedrooms with a Purpose:
Each of the three bedrooms tells its unique story to engage and attract potential buyers. Space planning is critical to maintain spaciousness without overwhelming the rooms.

The master bedroom adopts a darker color scheme with rich textures of bronze glass and green velvet. It features a mini walk-in closet, a lavish vanity counter, and an unwinding sleep zone.

Bedroom 2 is a serene white retreat inspired by Japanese craft elements, offering practical wardrobe storage and dresser space.

Bedroom 3, designed for a young son, boasts vibrant colors and contrasting finishes, with customized built-ins for study, storage, and relaxation.

Overcoming Challenges:
One of the significant hurdles was the presence of existing beams within the show unit, housed within an existing shoplot. However, through meticulous ceiling detailing and innovative lighting solutions, the desired high ceilings were achieved.

Amika stands as a testament to the art of storytelling through interior design. It's a celebration of subtle beauty and intricate detailing, harmonizing timber tones, Tsuji paper, teapot cabinetry, Sakura blossom accents, and rustic Japanese rattan. It's where every detail tells a story.
