The concept of "base.pg" for the cafe interior project embodies a return to simplicity and the fundamental essence of a place. In the context of the cafe, "base" refers to a foundational space where everything converges to its simplest form, reminiscent of the dictionary definition of base as a place where everything returns to basics.
The interior design proposal for "base.pg" focuses on highlighting the original structure of the building, embracing its raw and authentic features. Built-in benches are strategically integrated into the architecture, seamlessly blending with the building's structure. This approach not only preserves the integrity of the space but also enhances its functionality, ensuring that every aspect of the design serves a purpose in harmony with the original building.
Situated overlooking the Penang sea, the cafe's color palette is carefully curated to complement and accentuate the breathtaking view outside. By prioritizing the view as the main feature of the interior space, the design creates a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor environments, inviting patrons to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the surroundings.
As patrons enter "base.pg," they are greeted by a sense of familiarity and belonging, as if returning to their point of origin.
