This 3350sqf limited edition Semi Dee home nestled in a green suburb in Jade Hills Kuala Lumpur is designed for an urban family with modern lifestyles with a focus on not just aesthetics but function and living in the post pandemic new norm. Designed with a concept of Classic Luxe using a palette of greige (grey and beige) colors, minimalist veined natural marbles with accents of smoked orange, brushed gold, attention to detailing is key for the design. The house features 5 bedrooms, each done in a different theme and a full fledge Home Office taking the entire 3rd floor. Using natural materials like grey toned timber and minimalistic marbles with attention to unique detailing from cabinet handles down to customized marble light fittings, the design aims to achieve a quiet yet luxurious ambience for urban family living in the post pandemic conditions.
When we worked on the space planning we wanted to create private cosy moments for family bonding activities as well as open, entertaining spaces for each family member to use efficiently. The ground floor is designed as the heart of entertaining realm where the living, dining and kitchen connects both spatially and visually in a similar design language. The open-concept kitchen especially oozed flexibility and lifestyle with a spacious 16feet long island cum coffee counter to suit owners who loves entertaining at home. A long feature wall integrates cleverly with cabinet storage and a concealed door to the powder room and guest bedroom. The powder room is designed with the elderly in mind with flat flooring, grab bars and large circulation. The dining area annexed the kitchen island to promote home entertaining where friends can gather around for chats under the high 20 feet ceiling with cascading feature lights, and garden views. Ample of natural sunlight pours in to create a light and airy dining space. A taupe marble table for 8 pax and customized cream velvet chairs are designed to carry through the chic classic language, and vibrant splashes of colors from artwork are carefully selected to create a casual nook by the staircase just adjacent to the dining.
The main bedrooms on the first floor were designed as hotel suites which featured customized feature bedheads, walk in wardrobes, and clearly defined spaces to relax, work and sleep. The master bedroom is designed with a chic classic detailing using white and ivory palette with a regal blue velvet bedhead as the main focus. A His & Hers wardrobe maximizes function in this room as we redefine the room space. Detailed in bespoked ivory panels and brushed gold details the long bedhead feature wall integrates seamlessly with a dresser table and display shelfs designed for jewellery accesories and handbags. Bedroom 2 is designed with a dash of terracota red and neutral palette featuring linen and suede textured wall and cabinetry. A tinted glass wall divides the wardrobe area to maximize a more private access to the bathroom. The top floor is designed as a bespoked home office cum library in rich dark timbers and tinted glass, accessed through a glass door. This space features a reading nook, home office, a full-fledge pantry and ensuite bathroom to be a self-sustainable 'man's cave'. The home office opens up to a spacious balcony overlooking magnificent green views of kajang. The outdoor balcony and garden patios are designed with casual outdoor furnitures and lightings to ensure maximize space function.
