Villa Seni Residence is a commissioned 3-Storey semi-detached landed residential project within a lush landscapes compound. It is the home of a traditional Chinese couple and their three-generation household. The key of the design brief is to seek a communal way of living in a space that is semi-open, keep the essence of oriental element favored by elderly while introducing modern contemporary to balance the needs from young generation.
The topmost floor was allocated for the couple, their elder son and a Study Room, including a created loft connecting to First Floor for the younger son. The 2 daughters and their grandmother shares the space for the First Floor while the Ground Floor is mainly serve as family communal area including outdoor dining area with koi pond setting.
The proposed interior design is crafted according to the family preferred lifestyle especially to bring connection between the indoor and outdoor within the premise boundary. The long verandah outdoor dining allows the family to enjoy endless conversations by looking at the landscape and koi garden after lunch.
Veneer cladded ceiling designed in linear form framed the formal living, dining and dry kitchen, as the heart of the space. The openness of ground floor layout with glass door panels transform the interior to be a semi-outdoor space, nature becomes part of the decoration and given the eyes be treated to the view of a great garden. The natural material such as the marble flooring, vertical timber fins with mirror backing and solid wood top for Dry Kitchen, Outdoor Dining and Study Room table were picked to achieve the mood.
The overall texture and tone were carefully selected and matched to achieve a balance. It is a home for multi-generations and it present the past and future of the family.
