Interior Design Project Info
The Clients wished to do a complete makeover on their existing extension of the house. This extension was going to serve as the entertaining dining+kitchen, laundry area as well as a corner for their cats. Almost the entire interior was redone, from the floor, the ceiling and the cabinets. Since this area is fairly tight, design planning had to be done in an efficient and practical manner. Many designs solutions had to have multiple functions, space-saving, as well as having good natural ventilation and lighting.
High windows were sealed up to make way for more cabinet and working spaces whereas the kitchen island is specially designed to be retractable to accommodate more guests or cooking tasks. The original window was substituted to the folding type whereas the timber door at the rear was substituted into a swing door with glass louvers to maximize natural ventilation and lighting. The result is multi-functioning space that feels more spacious than it seems.
