Interior Design Project Info

HUTTON has visualised the post pandemic living style and importance of being more mindful of the family bonding. HUTTON has a long common area which we see it as an advantage to discover the possibilities it could be. To make full use of the space, client wished to have a working area which caters their need of working from home.

In the original state, there is a low ceiling beam across the living area, which was a challenge while doing design and space planning. Hence, we make the low beam as an indication to demarcate a working space nearby the balcony. The low beam is further enveloped with curved ceiling to discount its presence, making an organic flow extend from the entrance to the balcony.
To preserve the sense of spaciousness of the living area, the ceiling is treated with horizontal wooden pattern, it will also guide the eyesight to the balcony and natural daylighting.

Out of the earthy harmonious tone that has been generously used throughout the space, there are some accent colours used to create dynamic and ensure the design connectivity. For instance, the maroon red colour is used on the tv console and the entrance key compartment to create statement. The calming green colour is used at the working area for psychological help in concentration and visually separate the space instead of a physical partition as separation. The same green is used at the kitchen as well. Mustard yellow is chosen for one of the kids room for cheerful mood and pastel blue for more matured setting.

The TV wall design is kept low profile to balance with the ceiling design while we more focus on the architectural shapes. We design a hidden sliding door the substitute the original master bedroom door to ensure the overall look is coherent. A cushion bed is designed to create a niche space for more relaxing lifestyle and serves as an L-shape seat together with the sofa. The entire space is equipped with sufficient storage to keep the overall look minimal and neat.
