Project Overview
Interior Design Project Info
This project is a sea-view unit of a waterfront condominium located in the bustling commercial area of Penang island. It is a three bedrooms two bathrooms unit, with a built up area of 1400sq.ft. Standing on such a strategic location with spectacular sea-view, the client wants to turn this property into a cozy vacation home where they can relax and enjoy for the weekend.
As the client has a clear preference of curve design and neutral palette, we came out with a modern Zen style interior design taking “Hudor” as our inspiration. Hudor means water in Greek language, a natural substance that is often represented through fluid shapes, smooth lines and organic forms in design. This has led us to develop a concept that combine modern curve element and Zen simplicity.
Elegantly crafted for our client, this space demonstrates calmness and serenity through its harmonious forms. The entrance divider, constructed from textured glass that emulates the gentle undulations of water, is complemented by the graceful curves of the woodwork and ceiling design that beckon you further into the space. Intricate details such as the round fluted panel layered behind the curved hanging cabinet add depth to the feature wall, while LED light strips accentuate the curves, casting a luminous glow on the design. In the master bedroom, a raised platform inspired by Zen tatami mats has been meticulously crafted, enhancing the feeling of spaciousness and providing a refreshing departure from the conventional bed. The curves in the interior, from floor to ceiling evoke a sense of fluidity and create an inviting atmosphere. These gentle forms soften the rooms’ edges, promoting a tranquil and cozy environment that encourages rest and rejuvenation.
Overall, every detail from the matching of textures and colours to the decorative lighting and loose furniture, is thoughtfully designed to reflect the form of water and connect the interior of this waterfront condominium with its stunning sea view.
