RELAXED PERANAKAN LUXE
Shaped based on clearly defined volume of the interior ambiance, the space takes inspiration from the nostalgia mix of Straits Eclectic style, traditional Chinese and Malay, with contemporary finishing touch. The idea is to preserve as much as possible of the existing built component in the unit. Arriving guests are welcomed with the front hall visual extending into the grand dining hall; an elongated section that recalls the typical Peranakan House long and segmented interior.
Terracotta floor tiles and Peranakan motif tiles, and timber flooring are used to zone between halls, this create a clear yet sophisticated transition between spaces. Fusing with simplified colonial detailing, walls painted off-white with streamlined cornice profile, door and windows frame finished in powder coated brown, these combinations of tones formed an atmosphere to complement the vibrantly-designed Peranakan furniture, enriches the interior nostalgia styling.
At the mezzanine level, the private dining room is featured with symmetrical window layout, offering visual outlook to the dining hall, where it maintains the visual interaction of Peranakan House's common area at different heights.
