Located in the quiet neighbourhood of Jalan Setiakasih 5 in Damansara Heights, Bidou is a French restaurant that spiritually transports you into a quaint French home.
Adorned with elements of a family home - a foyer, quirky portraits, ornamental greenery, and wainscoting - it exudes a sense of warmth and comfort to evening diners. The dim lighting creates an intimate ambiance that enables a heightened sense of taste and smell, enhancing the experience of each course showcasing traditional French roots. Femininity is elegantly exhibited in the choices of light fittings, complementing the curvature of the space.
The private dining room (G floor) showcases a standout feature, curves. This creates an alcove atmosphere, enhancing the sense of intimacy between members within the space. The portrait-covered wall adds to an elegant, yet whimsical experience - an ice-breaker for those who find themselves particularly intrigued by the details in each frame. The cement flooring is transformed with vibrancy with intricate design of terracotta tiles that pays homage to Parisian streets and accentuates the experience.
The main dining area (1st floor) showcases trusses inherited from the space's previous tenants, allowing a sense of space and openness with high ceiling and ambient lighting that also resembles a cosy would-be dining area in the attic of a French home. Among the selection of seating areas, the semi-circle banquets create an experience of closeness, whether for a group of diners or for two. The colours in this space showcase vibrance, with touches of yellow and green against the coral walls and terracotta flooring.
