Villa Chahaya: Designed with the sense of consideration of the local elements and cultural identity of the surrounding. It reflect the elements discovered by nature and the people itself. The most prominent key element is the form of the roof. It portray the views of the rugged mountains that sit in front of the villa itself. The breath-taking view can be enjoyed thru the balcony which is the place for the users to "melepak". The balcony was designed based on the cultural activities of the people as we always call, "melepak" that can be a place for "mengeteh". This is implemented based on the study findings of warong and malay traditional wakaf.
This project has taught me as the designer to understand the role of an architect. Which is to provide the basic human needs to live peacefully in the community. To design a home, not just a house.
