Project SERIEN
A restrained domestic gallery for an art collector
Project SEREIN is conceived as a quiet architectural backdrop for an extensive and evolving private collection. Rather than competing with the objects it houses, the interior adopts a position of restraint—allowing art, limited editions, and collected pieces to take precedence within the domestic setting.
A warm, neutral palette anchors the home, with soft beige surfaces, light timber flooring, and muted textures establishing a calm, continuous canvas. Storage elements are carefully integrated and concealed, punctuated selectively by illuminated niches that frame curated objects with a gallery-like clarity. These moments of display are deliberate and controlled, reinforcing the notion of curation rather than accumulation.
Spatial planning prioritises visual calm and uninterrupted surfaces. Clean lines, minimal junctions, and softened geometries are employed throughout, ensuring the architecture recedes quietly into the background. Lighting is layered and indirect, washing walls and ceilings gently to avoid visual noise while enhancing material depth and spatial proportion.
Throughout the home, the dialogue between architecture and collection remains intentional. Each space is designed not as a statement in itself, but as a composed setting—one that evolves alongside the collector’s narrative. In Project SEREIN, domestic life and curation coexist, united by restraint, clarity, and an enduring sense of calm.
