Interior Design Project Info

Located within a historic building in the heart of Kota Kinabalu’s Central Business District, this reflexology and massage space was designed as a sanctuary of calm amid the urban rush. The client’s brief was simple, a minimalist environment for body and foot massage services, within a modest budget. Yet, from this simplicity, we saw potential not just for minimalism but for meaningful stillness.

Natural materials such as raw timber, hand-rendered plaster, woven macramé and clay accents form a palette that feels grounded and human. The design moves in soft rhythms with neutral tones, tactile finishes and subtle transitions of light, all curated to slow the pace and restore presence.

It is a space that proves true design does not depend on luxury but on intention, where every imperfection becomes part of the story. In the middle of the city’s heartbeat, this sanctuary invites one to pause, breathe and rediscover balance. It stands as a reminder that simplicity, when touched by soul, becomes the purest form of luxury.
