Nestled in the serene residential enclave of Petaling Jaya, Haus 52 redefines the essence of a peaceful retreat, designed with a deep focus on tranquility and well-being, this residence is thoughtfully curated to provide a rejuvenating sanctuary, particularly for elderly holiday stays.
Before its transformation, the existing layout of the home lacked openness, limiting the flow of natural light and ventilation. The presence of disconnected spaces and outdated, non-functional elements further contributed to a dull and uninspiring atmosphere, affecting the emotional well-being of its occupants.
Emphasizing a harmonious connection between human habitation and nature, the design approach preserves the original architectural context while infusing new vitality into the space of approximately 2600 square feet. By incorporating organic forms, natural textures, and earthy tones—such as warm woodgrains and neutral stone finishes—the interiors evoke a sense of comfort and familiarity.
The architectural interventions of the front facade respect the surrounding neighborhood’s character, maintaining clean vertical lines and a balanced façade. The car porch, featuring concrete pavers integrated into the landscape, acts as a natural heat buffer, reducing glare and enhancing thermal comfort. Meanwhile, a cool white palette adorns the exterior walls, reflecting sunlight and lending a calming, visually serene appeal.
