Body Text

White-coloured spaces could be seen underrated and is hardly a favoured choice due to
probably the mundane look or its high maintenance to keeping the space clean. In the
design theory, white spaces (negative spaces) make up between and within the individual
design elements, which is often neglected as it forms an interactive design from the many
elements that bring the layout and structure together.

Interior design studio, The Neue Space sees it otherwise when it comes to designing their
office space, cloaked in purely white. Like a blank canvas, the office space is abstained from
any other colour mixture except for the raw industrial element from the exposed, bare
concrete surface on the ceiling. Implementing the white spaces theory into the space
planning, it exudes an enlarged visual space than its reality in perfect harmony.

The waiting area greets guests with a comfortable two-seater couch display placed just
outside the meeting room, before being ushered into the meeting. Rather than closed up
walls, the windowed glass partition is built as a divider for the carperted meeting room,
maximising its visual space.

Furnished in a rather eccentric spider-like lighting fixture above, the space emanates an
unusual, relaxed yet splendour persona. The lavishness comes from the elongated Dekton
marble-textured meeting table matched with grey and white roller office chairs. With the idea
to commune the outside space to its full potential, the pantry is designed in an open-space
manner.

From the waiting area, low cabinets are attached to the walls while shelves donned the
above. Unexpectedly, the pantry’s marble worktop braced from the wall towards the floor,
benevolently setup a Scandinavian island look with tall grey wooden stools, making up a
mini dining area for short breaks.

All up for an ingenious and playful idea, the office space does not stop there when
workstations are discovered concealing behind the backdrop of the shared spaces. Coming
with an element of surprise, the company’s hand painted catchphrase graffiti on the PU matt
feature wall panel overlapped onto the connecting door, admirably camouflaging and
simplifying the entire outlook for privacy.

Once entered, the soft white tapestry unveils the directors’ office swankiness, comprising the
marble work tables, the adaptation of the spider-like lighting fixtures and the modern-inspired
transparent plastic chairs within the window-glass box, overlooking the employees’ working
space; where its necessities are neatly arranged on thin white shelves, organised in wooden,
plastic crates and metal-mesh cabinet. .

Undoubtedly having the eye for details, every space is ensued with silver, gold and bronze
pull-out handles, expansive marble worktop tables, inspired transparent plastic chairs and
eccentric lightings along with Ikea’s home furnishings – all the idealised elements bring
together a new, picturesque white space expression.
