Get tired of the black, white, grey minimalist, and modern style, the delicate and warm cream style has become a new trend of interior style. The smooth visual experience has the magical power of soothing people, whether it is Nordic, Japanese, minimalist, or wabi-sabi, with milky colors and rounded shapes, the healing energy is instantly up.
In this project, we apply round and curved design elements such as at the edges and corners of the furniture, ceiling, and wall, a curved shape can be made to soften the overall outline. Instead of having a traditional curtain pelmet box-up, we design a curve curtain pelmet and it also becomes part of the ceiling design. There is also a curve box-up at the ceiling between the common area to the bedrooms, creating a boundary between the public and private areas.
We also use a lot of concave and semi-rounded wall wood panels; these aesthetic panels have a wavy surface that serves to give volume and a three-dimensional effect that adds character to walls and furniture. The design of built-in furniture is mostly closed to retain its cleanliness and maximize the capacity of storage. By the way, we also keep some open shelves and compartments for displaying the decorations, so that the interior of the unit is not so rigid. The materials used in the project are solid plywood and complete with high-pressure laminate and spray paint finish, beige and white color tones are selected to create a warm, cozy, and comforting environment.
Glass block and fluted glass door also used in the design to create partition but in the meanwhile also allow natural lighting shines in. The sheer curtain is selected instead of blackout curtains, sheer curtain is a great way to make the most of the natural light and create a bright, soft, outdoorsy feeling, whilst maintaining that much-needed privacy. Besides, we use anti-Formaldehyde board and glue for the built-in furniture as we know that formaldehyde is very harmful to us and the environment.
The paint we use for the unit is Nippon Odor-Less Air Care, it is an anti-formaldehyde interior emulsion that helps create a safer and more hygienic indoor environment. It also contains Anti-Formaldehyde with Active Carbon Technology that continually absorbs harmful free formaldehyde from the air and converts it into water vapor, resulting in clean fresh air.
Moreover, we also install smart home features in this unit, such as the lights automatically turning on when the owner comes home, and the curtain will automatically close in the daytime and opening at night time. The electrical appliances also can control using remotes or smartphone such as air-conditioning and television. The overall color matching for the “Wabi-sabi Cream” interior style will be a little milky and coffee color, in addition to the gentle atmosphere, it also gives the space a feeling of indifferent years.
