INTERIOR DESIGN & BUILD

Project Location : KL Eco City Mall
Design Concept : Industrial Rustic
Project Type : Retail
Property Size : 940sqft
Designed : Whooh by Nadi

The interior design of "The Bean Belt" cafe exudes a distinctive and inviting ambiance, combining industrial elements with a touch of warmth and creativity. The predominant use of cement and steel materials creates an industrial aesthetic, while carefully curated design features foster an atmosphere of community, comfort, and creativity.

Upon entering the cafe, patrons are immediately drawn to the extraordinary long table positioned at the center of the space. This communal table serves as a focal point and embodies the cafe's ethos of connection and shared experiences. The concept of sharing a table encourages spontaneous interactions, providing an opportunity for customers to engage with one another and cultivate new connections.

In the absence of traditional signage at the shopfront bulkhead area, the cafe's identity is boldly announced by a suspended steel signage that hovers above the communal table. Crafted from laser-cut rusted steel plates, this signage proudly displays the cafe's name, "The Bean Belt." The intricate design not only adds visual interest but also pays homage to the coffee bean belt map on the globe. This unique entrance feature becomes an artistic focal point, immediately capturing the attention of visitors and setting the tone for the cafe's character.

The use of wire glass as a backdrop for the steel signage adds an element of transparency, allowing glimpses of the cafe's interior and creating an intriguing play of light and shadow. This dynamic visual effect adds a layer of depth to the entrance and enhances the overall atmosphere.

To balance the industrial textures of cement and steel, light wood is introduced throughout the space. Wooden accents soften the overall aesthetic, adding warmth and a sense of natural appeal. The lounge area is a prime example of this integration, with comfortable sofas and lounge chairs that invite patrons to relax and savor their coffee moments. Pendant lights above emit a low-intensity, warm glow, contributing to a cozy and stable environment conducive to relaxation and social interaction.

The subtle yet striking use of camellia red as a unique color accent in soft furnishings adds a touch of vibrancy and personality to the interior. This carefully chosen color infuses energy into the space, creating a memorable and distinct visual element that ties into the cafe's identity.

In summary, "The Bean Belt" cafe's interior design masterfully combines industrial elements with comfort, creativity, and a sense of community. The focal communal table encourages interactions, the suspended steel signage adds a captivating entrance, and the use of wood and color accents softens the overall aesthetic. This results in a space that not only serves as a place for work and communication but also offers a welcoming and unique environment for patrons to enjoy their coffee and connect with others.
