The Atelier is stemmed from the french name ‘Atelier’ which means workshop or studio, especially of an artist, artisan, or designer.
Situated in the touristy city of Kota Kinabalu, The Atelier weaves KK’s creative spirit into every part of the boutique hotel by showcasing authentic decorative items, furniture, ceramics and artwork.
The design direction for the Atelier is intertwined closely with the vibrant colours of KK art scene with each style embodies the strong character of the artist represented.
Different set of five senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch are activated as guests step into the world of a Potter, Musician, Photographer and many more.
Each room of The Atelier is designed to maximise the limited space without loosing the element of comfort and restfulness. Interplay of natural light, harmonious colour tones, space planning and material selection further enhances the space.
The Atelier collaborates with influencers in the field of arts in Sabah by providing display gallery space to showcase their talents and merchandises.
For example, The Pottery Room showcases handmade potteries by ‘Tao Art Studio which are available for sale and guests can dive in further by signing up for pottery classes.
