Contemporary style actually was mix of various styles and ideas such as Modernism, Postmodernism, De-constructionist, Art deco and Futurism. Besides, it can be defined as all current design without being obviously related to any historical style.
Designer adopt the modern elements and pieces in the contemporary interior design. They use the natural materials which usually paired with concrete, steel and other industrial-inspired elements. The home decors featuring focus more on form and aesthetic charm.
Interior tend to showcase space rather than things. Contemporary style generally focus on colour, space, furniture and lighting to keep the home sleek and fresh. The colour such as neutral, black and white are the palette often punched up and accented with bright and bold colour that play against neutrals. Besides, Line, whether straight vertical, horizontal lines or curved shapes is crucial for a space. Use of bold colour blocks, high ceiling, bare windows and geometric shapes in wall art and sculpture. Track lighting and recessed lighting also will enhance the look of modern contemporary interior design.
