Interior Design & Architectural Project Info

2 Botol
The restaurant industry is currently experiencing a wave of "Instagram-worthy" trends. Both restaurants and bars are investing heavily to capitalize on this phenomenon, and designers are doing their utmost to create unique and innovative environments. The aim is to leave a lasting impression that resonates with the public, leading to organic word-of-mouth promotion. Naturally, as designers, we have been swept up in this trend. To stand out and be innovative, while also pursuing original design, we abandoned the familiar mainstream styles and opted for a "nostyle" style to create this small craft beer bar, hoping to captivate customers with a fresh and impressive experience.

Architectural Design
We used discarded wheel rims as foundational supports, repurposed wooden staircases to create steps that meet new specifications, and utilized old oil drums and rusty grating panels for the exterior walls. The roof was constructed from old corrugated iron sheets. Instead of conventional aluminium windows, we chose old-style "kampung glass" louver windows for the right side of the front facade, while the left side features large folding windows for ample ventilation. A small window was added on the left to reduce the feeling of confinement inside. The door was made from a discarded signboard, with an old air pump serving as the door handle. A discarded chemical barrel with a light source was repurposed as the signboard. The interior walls and floors were treated with recycled wood panels finished with paint.

Exterior and Interior Decoration
To balance the building's rugged exterior, we placed numerous green plants outside, emphasizing the importance of greenery. The back wall features two beetles cut from discarded iron sheets, adorned with geometric patterns. The outdoor lighting consists of vintage-style "Edison bulbs." Inside, the decor blends old black-and-white TVs, retro-style sofas, telephones, table lamps, semi-abstract paintings, and everyday items from various cultures, filling every space in a chaotic yet orderly manner. Geometric patterns were used on the ceiling, walls, floor, and wooden cabinets to create a visually stunning experience within the limited space.

Furniture Design
The tables and chairs used for guest seating are made from discarded iron items. The table tops were designed using the tops of old oil drums, which were polished and treated to be both sturdy and unique. The table legs were repurposed from old iron table legs to ensure stability and durability. The chairs and benches were carefully selected from second-hand stores and then remodeled and refurbished to be both comfortable and in harmony with the overall design style. Each piece of furniture has been meticulously processed and crafted, not only extending the life of discarded materials but also giving them new purpose and aesthetic appeal.

Functionality and Layout
Although this small bar is only 240 square feet, it is fully equipped. The bar features two three-door beer chillers, a photo spot for customers, a bar counter with a double bowl sink, a refrigerator, a water dispenser, and a cash register. Additionally, hidden storage spaces significantly reduce visual clutter, maintaining a clean and organized space.

Environmental Philosophy
All the discarded items used in the renovation have been given a new life through creative repurposing. We have tried to retain as much of the original appearance of these items as possible, allowing people to recognize their original identities. This conveys the concept of recycling discarded items, encouraging more people to consider the possibilities of environmental protection and sustainable development.
