Interior Design Project Info
Language is the bridge to one another and Culture is the story. Goethe-Institut being the gateway towards German Language and culture. It is impeccable to ensure that a platform or space is well prepared to allow the communication flows fluently.
Celebrating 61 birthday here in KL for Goethe-Institut Malaysia, moving to the latest CBD area in Menara IQ, TRX KL up and rising new international financial district. This symbolizes a new era and milestone not solely for Goethe-Institut but also for anyone who loves languages, culture and sharing. We are glad to be given the opportunity to work alongside with Connect PMC in design and build for the project. Whilst designing the space, 3 important criteria are to compose the space. An absolute safe space for learning and exploration; an easy open floor for teacher and students to share their experiences and stories; a place to celebrate one another’s festive, an isometric view towards one culture.
Classroom being the core activity of the floorplate. We designed the class room in a way that it could be isolated or combined as one at anytime the teacher would like to hold a class. With an operable wall sitting in between, reconfiguration could easily be done to accommodate different activities. The second most important space of all is the Library. It is park in between the administrative office and classrooms. It is a place to read, a place to hold the students before or after class, non the less this is a place where it can be reconfigured as a ground of celebration. We have the Library place next to a scenic window area where TRX is just right at the opposite from where you are sitting, and natural sunlight is indirectly lured into the space, energizing and luminated the library gently. The design team created a Multipurpose hall that can house up to 80pax at a time works as performance and sharing hub, at the same time convertible to an exam hall With the use of easy configurable tables and chairs. In the new Goethe-Institut Kuala Lumpur, we would like to deliver a space that is ultimately functional and yet exciting to bring in new passionate learner to explore the beauty of German – Malaysia culture.
