Interior Design Project Info

"It’s so difficult to clean up everyday, it gotta be easier." Mother of a family of 4 said that the first time we met with them. Coming from a family home where 3 generations lived together, this mother was really looking forward to a minimalistic, simple and clean design style.

Now that she’s able to make her own decisions, she wants to get rid of all things decorative and impractical. We went with a white paint through the entire house, with the other installations being a warm teak timber. This includes the wardrobes, storage cabinets and tv console. First thing we’ve decided once entering the site is that a sliding glass door is essentially required to conceal the existing open kitchen, what happens in the kitchen, stays in the kitchen.

No wardrobes or storage cabinets are halfway done, all of them are fully concealed up until the ceiling. A Japanese style tatami flooring is also included in the living room so that all the children can sit around the living room on the floor. A 3 pax bunk bed is also specially made to ensure that each children has their own spot and avoid the need to share, a greyish blue colour is added in the children room to add a little dynamic comparing to the rest of the house.

Now that all decorative elements are out of the way, does it looks clean and easy enough for daily upkeeps?
