Interior Design Project Info

The aesthetic clinic is located in the commercial building at Old Street Batu Pahat which designed by IY. The space has undergone a transformation from a traditional Chinese restaurant interior into an open-plan clinic that utilise the view of nature outside the windows.

The main idea was to create a homely and comfortable space where one would find relaxation and reduce stress before and after doctor consultation session.

Challenging part of the design is remaining the existing structured ceiling and air-conditioned from previous owner. The ceiling height of the shop is only 9ft, which make the space slightly lower. Therefore, we custom-made 9ft tall door with laminated timber texture to create a tall and spacious visual with other vertical elements.

The interior space accommodates consultation room and treatment room where emphasized with more privacy. 3 facial rooms, occupying 20 pax seminar area, small pantry, make-up area, utility and VIP Lounge.

Spaces are divided from public and private area through the use of the transparency tones of polycarbonate panels. It uses a metal frame that is aligned with profiles of it edges. This panels allows the different densities and intensities of light penetrate through and spaciousness inside the clinic allow the user/patient to have a sense of privacy before and after aesthetic surgery.

In addition, the Lounge Room was designed with curve semi-transparent polycarbonate panels in order to maintain visual connection between spaces without actually separating them. The entrance of each facial room were designed with a 200mm width polycarbonate semi-translucent panels to allow inside lighting on giving a clue that the room is being occupied.

It is about warmth and might also about homely comfortable space design instead of common clinic layout.
