Millimetre Design gives us a tour of 400 – 600 square feet apartments that have everything you would ask of a fully equipped home. See how the designers used multi-functional furniture to transform rooms in sophisticated ways.

Multi-functional spaces and furniture make these studio apartments feel much bigger than they really are.

In Part 1 of this series, we introduced a 603 square-foot showroom unit of HighPark Suites in Kelana Jaya and toured them with the interior designer in charge, Design Director, Vienna Chew of Millimetre Design.

This time, we write about our tour of two 452 square-foot studio apartment showrooms. Just when we thought we were sufficiently impressed with how much you can do with so little (space) in the previous unit, we had to think again.

This studio unit was designed with the bachelor in mind, which explains the moody grey colour scheme, city skyline wallpaper, and dark wood built-in TV cabinet.

Upon entering, the gorgeous marble kitchenette backsplash stood out. The polished backsplash offset the more rustic cabinet doors painted with a light coat of white so that the character of the wood beneath would peek through.

The star of the space is the custom TV table structure that is connected to an extendable table for dining and work, and a floating shelf for decoration. We love a cleverly designed cabinet, and especially one that can fulfil multiple functions while looking stylish!

Almost ceiling-length cabinets are built into the side of the bed, while smaller cabinets sit above the bed. Opposite that is a dedicated built-in wardrobe, giving the room enough storage for two.
