The highly anticipated 2025 edition of Atap DesignVoyage unfolded in Klang Valley on May 16th, marking the first of three insightful journeys planned for the year to connect the design community with the forefront of industry innovation.

This year’s first field trip welcomed 44 enthusiastic participants from a diverse range of leading firms, including ID Candy Design Sdn Bhd, Stoked Associates, Incraft International Design, and TODO Design Sdn Bhd, alongside two distinguished winners from ADASI 2024, all eager to be the first to experience the region’s brand-new showrooms and groundbreaking design concepts.
The day commenced smoothly with a dedicated Atap shuttle service from Oasis Village, setting the stage for a focused exploration of Klang Valley’s evolving design landscape.

The first stop of the day immersed attendees in the world of innovative melamine surfaces at HVEA in Kajang. Designers were treated to an exclusive look at HVEA’s groundbreaking designs, exploring textures and colors that are redefining modern living. Providing a glimpse into HVEA’s unique offerings, Teo, HVEA’s Brand Representative shared, “Our unique selling point will be our sizes in four by nine, which is pretty unique in the local market. Beside the size, we are also a very healthy product with ultra-low emission levels, and we offer a variety of unique touch surfaces to meet all designers’ requirements.”

The afternoon took an exciting turn at Goldenduck International, a leader in cinema system integration in Southeast Asia. Attendees explored their two showrooms, experiencing the future of audio-visual technology extending beyond traditional cinema setups to encompass production studios, smart meeting rooms, and IP streaming solutions. Reflecting on the visit, Hooi San, the Deputy Business Leader from Cinemagica by Goldenduck shared, “It was great to meet so many designers at our gallery, and we had an awesome time together.” This sentiment echoed the enthusiasm of the designers as they witnessed the power of immersive audio and visual experiences.

The final showroom visit of the day was at the upgraded Signature Flagship Store. Designers were among the first to explore their enhanced space and discover exclusive new brands alongside their premium home furnishings. The showcase highlighted Signature’s commitment to providing end-to-end home solutions, from custom built-in furniture to home appliances, all within inspiring design concepts like Contemporary Charm and Modern Classic. Simon Ng, Senior Manager Business Development from Signature expressed his delight, stating, “Today, I’m very happy that Atap already brought a lot of designers to come over here to visit our showroom featuring 50,000 square feet, the biggest interior showroom in Malaysia.”

The Atap DesignVoyage 2025 culminated in a relaxed and engaging dinner at ZUKKINI in Oasis Village. This popular Asian-Australian restaurant provided the perfect setting for designers to unwind, share their experiences from the day, and network with fellow professionals. The unique culinary offerings and the restaurant’s vibrant ambiance fostered a sense of community and celebrated the successful exploration of Klang Valley’s design scene.
